The CAS Scholar Program recognizes undergraduate students within the College who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and who have excellent potential for intellectual growth.  Alexis was one of 22 nominees from the 17 departments in the College, of which, only four were chosen as top scholar.

Alexis will receive $1,000 for her accomplishments this year, and will also be awarded $1,000 each year program obligations are met, up to $3,000. Program obligations include: maintaining a major within the College, maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 her second year and 3.5 her third and fourth years, attending lectures and cultural events, and completing a capstone project.

Alexis is an Honors student and completed 18 hours her first semester here at AU. She has an intellectual curiosity, as well as a passion for learning and interacting with those in other disciplines. She displays outstanding writing skills and demonstrates important characteristics of a professional.  Alexis has maintained a 4.0 GPA while being outgoing and involved on campus, including being an AU cheerleader. She plans to study at the Paris Fashion Institute during the summer of 2013.

"Alexis is bright and bubbly, a real joy to have in class," says Dr. Nancy Morris, Associate Professor of FCS.

The FCS family is very proud of Alexis and her accomplishments in such a short amount of time.
